Seahawks Looking for More in NFL Draft

April 25, 2019

The Seattle Seahawks head into the NFL Draft with 2 first -round picks, but only 5 picks overall. Most so-called draft experts expect that to change.

Seattle, under G.M John Schneider and coach Pete Carroll, have a long history of trading down or out of the first round to acquire more picks. It makes sense to expect that strategy to continue, but the Seahawks do have a glaring need on the defensive line in a draft rich in talent at tackle and edge rusher.

After picking up the 29th selection from Kansas City in a trade for DE Frank Clark earlier this week, maybe Seattle will spilt the difference. They have their own section at 21, which could be highly coveted by other teams. Moving that pick would give them some additional picks and still allow them to go after a defensive difference maker at the end of the first round.

The first round gets underway today at 5:00pm from Nashville, Tennessee. Rounds two and three are Friday with rounds 4-thorugh 7 wrapping up on Saturday.
