Lummi Nation Looking for Physical Game Tonight

October 4, 2018

The Lummi Nation football team is looking for a physical affair the next time they hit the field. That will be tonight when the Blackhawks play host to Darrington.

After suffering back to back losses, Lummi finds themselves in rare territory. At 2-and-2 they are just .500 on the season and have fallen out of the top-5 of the Associated Press 1B state rankings.

Changes are expected after the Blackhawks lost 46-to-12 to Naselle last Friday.

Lummi head coach Jim Sandusky creditied multiple turnovers as a big key to the loss. He also said his team wasn't physical enough for the entire game. The team addressed the lack of physicality this week during practice.

"We'll have different starters for this game coming up, guys that showed me they really wanted to hit and really wanted to play," said Sandusky. "I'm looking forward to giving that opportunity to the guys that want to get in and be physical."

Harrington is also 2-and-2 on the year with both losses coming to the same teams that have beaten the Blackhawks in Neah Bay and Naselle. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00pm
