SWEEP: Bellingham Bells Make it 8 Straight

June 22, 2018 

Make it two sweeps in a row and 8 straight victories for the Bells. Bellingham continued their winning ways with a 5-0 shutout of the Cowlitz Black Bears Thursday night at Story Field. 

Nick Nastrini (2-0, 0.53 ERA) was commanding on the mound. The righty out of UCLA picked up his second win of he year, going seven innings and giving up just 3 hits whole striking out 3 batters. 

Designated hitter Matt James hit his second home run of the year. The Bellingham native went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. It ups his batting average to .322 on the season. 

The Bells improved to 13-and-5. They 3.5 games ahead of second place Victoria HarbourCats in the West Coast League North Division. The two teams begin a three-game series Friday at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
