Close Contests at Lynden in NWC Tri Meet

Lynden, WA - The Meridian boys and the Bellingham girls prevailed in close scoring margins to win their meets at Lynden High School featuring Burlington-Edison and Lynden.

 

 

The Trojan boys beat Lynden by 7 points taking a 36-43 winning score. Meridian took the first through third spots with senior Nathan Schneider winning the 5k race in a time of 17:10. Teammates and fellow seniors Abbas Theophilus and Jaskaran Dhatt both ran 17:26 for the 2nd and 3rd placings.

 

Lynden senior Tate Hutchins was the Lions top runner finishing 4th with a time of 17:27. Junior Isaiah Ellis finished in 7th in 17:57.

 

Jensen Kintzele placed 6th running 17:56 as the top Bellingham kid. Burlington's Connor Nelson ran 18:25 and was the Tigers best finisher placing 8th.

 

The Bellingham girls beat out Burlington-Edison winning 33-41. Senior Annika Reiss won her 2nd race of the season by a margin of 1 minute running 18:52. Junior Livi Lackland Henry finished in 2nd for the Red Raiders in 19:55.

 

Burlington has a pair of freshman stars in the making as Mila Hoagland and Sage Mailhiot placed 3rd and 4th in times of 20:40 and 20:57. They were the Tigers top runners of the day.

 

Kendyl Otter of Meridian ran 21:47 for a 5th place finish and the top runner for the Trojans. Lynden's Frances Perry finished at the Lady Lions best finisher placing 12th in 24:10.

 

Meridian, Bellingham, and Lynden will be at South Whidbey for the Carl Westling Invite on Saturday for their next meet.
