Bellingham Slam Roll Past Tacoma Thunder

August 12, 2018

The short-handed Bellingham Slam converted an early lead into a lopsided victory in Seattle Pro-Am action Sunday. Bellingham thumped the Tacoma Thunder 112-to-95 at Royal Brougham Pavilion.

The Slam never trailed in the contest with their largest lead reaching 26 points in the first half. Tacoma pulled to within 7 in the 4th quarter, but could get no closer.

6 of the 7 Slam players scored in double figures. Paul Hafford led the way with 24 points and Tyler Amaya finished with a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds.

“This was a great team win with balanced scoring, which is exactly what we needed with only seven players available," said Slam GM and Co-Coach Kip Leonetti. "We were able to give extended minutes to our young players which I’m sure will pay dividends in the future.”

University of Washington senior guard David Crisp led the Thunder with 35 points on 13-of-23 shooting.

With the win Bellingham improves to 5-and-2 in The Crawsover. The Slam will play their final regular season game August 18th versus Worldwide S.M. at 12:00pm.
