Lynden Christian, Sehome & Ferndale Sports Teams Named Fall Academic State Champions

Sports squads from Lynden Christian, Sehome and Ferndale have been named Academic State Champions by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association for the 2018-2019 fall sports season. The WIAA released their list of Scholastic Awards Program Fall Team Academic State Champions Thursday
The program, sponsored by Dairy Farmers of Washington and Les Schwab Tires, recognizes the team with the highest grade point average among all Washington high schools in their enrollment classification.
Lynden Christian took home the honors in 1A football. The Lyncs posted a GPA of 3.401. Sehome took the top spot in 2A volleyball with a mark of 3.756. The Ferndale girls soccer squad is tops in the 3A classification with a 3.920 GPA.
The Academic State Champions for fall include the following sports: Cross Country, Football, 1B/2B Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Girls Swimming & Diving and Volleyball.
The winning teams will be presented with a special plaque at the upcoming WIAA State Championships. A complete list of Academic State Champions may be found HERE.
