WWU Softball: Thursday Game vs. Sonoma State Rained Out in Turlock, CA

March 22, 2018

TURLOCK, Calif. – Thursday’s scheduled non-conference softball game featuring Western Washington University and Sonoma State University has been rained out due to poor field conditions and forecast rain the rest of the afternoon in the Turlock area.

WWU (8-15) was scheduled to play the 13th-ranked Sonoma State Seawolves (19-7) at 6 pm at Warrior Softball Field on the campus of Stanislaus State University. Heavy overnight rains and projected inclement weather the rest of the afternoon forced the cancellation of the game.

The Vikings will now turn their attention to the 17th Annual Tournament of Champions presented by the City of Turlock, beginning with a pair of games Friday (weather permitting) at Pedretti Park. Western is scheduled to play Cal State Monterey Bay (14-14) at 9 am, followed by Hawai'i Hilo (15-8) at 11:30 am.

All of WWU’s games in the Tournament of Champions can be followed via Live Stats at WWUVikings.com/Live. For up-to-date weather updates and tournament scores, visit WarriorAthletics.com/TOC for all the news on the Tournament of Champions.
