Whatcom County Dominates Girls Prep Soccer Rankings

If you're looking for a powerhouse squad in girls prep soccer you'll find plenty of options locally. Six Whatcom County teams are in the top-10 across three classifications in the rankings released Tuesday by MaxPreps.com.
Squalicum leads the way as the top-ranked squad in the 3A classification. The Storm are 4-and-1 overall with a 2-0 Northwest Conference record. Ferndale (3-1-1) checks in at #5.
Three local squads are in the top-10 in the 2A. Sehome (3-1) is #2 while Bellingham (3-1-1) and Lynden (3-2) are ranked numbers 9 and 10 respectively.
Lynden Christian is the lone local school in the 1A rankings. The Lyncs (3-1-1) are 6th.
In statewide composite rankings MaxPreps lists Squalicum at number 4. Sehome is just out of the top-10 at number 11.

In marquee match-ups this week Squalicum hosts Bellingham Tuesday at 8:00pm and Sehome battles Ferndale Friday at 4:30pm at the Phillips 66 Soccer Park.
