Softball: Lynden Christian Wins District Crown

The Lynden Christian softball team is head to 1A state as district champions. The Lyncs beat Mount Baker 5-3 in the title game Saturday at Janicki Fields in Sedro-Woolley.
Lynden Christian will begin state tournament play versus Connell, at 12:00pm Friday, May 25th at Columbia Playfield in Richland.
The second-place Mountaineers will open state versus Kiona Benton Friday at 10:00am.
Nooksack Valley fell short of making it a Northwest Conference trio of teams heading to state out of the district tournament. The Pioneers won their first loser-out game Saturday, beating Sultan 12-5. South Whidbey beat Nooksack Valley 8-1 in the 3rd place game to claim the final state berth.
