Whatcom CC Men's Soccer on to NWAC Title Game

The Whatcom Community College men's soccer squad is a victory away from a Northwest Athletic Conference championship. The Orcas will play for the title Sunday. 

Whatcom advanced with a 2-0 shutout of Highline Friday night at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. Cam Miller and Keegan Rubio  scored first half goals and goalkeeper Hector Gutierrez made two saves to secure the victory. 

The Orcas (14-3-4) will face Tacoma College (18-1-2) in the NWAC championship. The Titans hammered Pierce College 4-1 in the other semifinal. Alex Whiting led the way with a goal and two assists. 

Sunday's title match is at 4:00pm at Starfire. It follows the NWAC All-Star Games at 9:00am (women) and 11:00am (men). The women's championship match between Clark College and Peninsula College is scheduled for 1:30pm.
