District Softball: Sehome On to State

Sehome softball is returning to the 2A state tournament while Lynden still has some work to do following district tournament action at Janicki Fields in Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday. 

 

The Mariners punched their ticket to state with an 18-3 victory over Sedro-Woolley and a  13-3 win over Anacortes in the semifinals. Fifth-seeded Sehome (15-4) will play No. 2 Liberty  for the district championship Friday at 6:30pm. 

Lynden lost their opening game Wednesday falling to Mountlake Terrace 6-to-3. The Lions kept their season alive with a 17-6 victory over Cedarcrest in a loser out contest. Lynden (14-7) must win 2 more loser out games to claim the 3rd and final state berth. They will play Anacortes Friday at 4:30pm.
