2017-2018 Record: 3-6; 1-5 in League

 

The Lynden Christian football team enters their 3rd year under Dan Kaemingnk in his second stint as head coach. The Lyncs have been building incrimentaly, going from just 1 victory in 2015- 2016 to 2 in 2016-2017 and 3 in 2017-2018.

Now can they make the jump back into the playoffs?

Lynden Christian coach Dan Kaemingk says he has a lot of young kids that are working hard and that progress within the program comes down to goals and purpose.

Kaemingk says they have a 3-way battle at quarterback with senior Payton Robertson and juniors Trajan Schouten and Bryce Bouwman all showing promise.

​

LC returns three impact linemen in Simon Anker, Dylan Kaemingk and Jake Libolt. Look for fullback and linebacker Sam Faber to standout on both sides of the ball. 

​

We asked Faber to give us a scouting report on some of his teammates. 

​

 

 

 

 

"The spots that are kind of open, where we lost some kids would be at the skill positions, says Kaemingk. "Jalen Apol returns, but after that it's a bunch of juniors that are hungry and excited and look really good right now, so we'll have to see how it plays out."

​

It's a steady diet of the NWC's 2A Lake Division to open up the year for Lynden Christian. Then it's the survive and advance portion of the schedule for 6 straight weeks against the 1A schools.
