Prep Baseball: Tuesday 3/26 Recaps

Lakewood 10 Bellingham 0 

Lakewood (3-4/2-0 NWC) blanked Bellingham 10-0 at Joe Martin Field. The Cougars racked up 12 hits in the 5-inning victory. Carson Chrisman carried the biggest bat for Lakewood going 3-for-4 with a double, 2 singles, 3 RBI's and a run scored. 

Caden Wolfson held bellingham to just 2 hits on the mound. The sophomore struck out 5 batters while walking 4. 

Bellingham (1-7/0-2 NWC) is back in action Tuesday versus Squalicum at Joe Martin Field. 

Lynden 8 Blaine 0 

Preston King threw a complete game shutout to lead Lynden to a 8-0 victory over Blaine at home. The senior gave up just four hits and struck out 6 batters for the Lions (5-1/2-0 NWC) to remain perfect in Northwest Conference play. 

Lynden did their damage early and late with 4 runs in the first and sixth innings. Jack Doolittle and Carter Parcher each went 2-for-4 with an RBI. 

The Lions visit Sehome on Thursday while Blaine (4-3/1-1 NWC) plays host to Ferndale. 

Anacortes 3 Sehome 2 

Anacortes held on for a 3-2 victory over Sehome in a low scoring, defensive minded affair at home Tuesday.  The Seahawks (3-5/1-1 NWC) made 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th hold up for their first conference victory of the season. 

Ryan Rubalcava went 2-for-3 with and RBI for Anacortes. Senior Ty Saunders struck out 8 Sehome batters and gave up just 4 hits on the mound. 

Lukas Deslisle and Michael Mclin each had RBI's for the Mariners who fall to 4-and5 overall and 1-1 in NWC play.  Sehome hosts Lynden on Thursday. 

Burlington 11 Mount Baker 0 

Jakob Fleury threw a 3 hit shutout as Burlington blanked Mount Baker 11-0 at home. The senior struck out 11 batters without giving up a base-on-balls. 

The Tigers (4-2/1-1 NWC) turned 9 hits into 11 runs and the Mountaineers helped them out with 4 errors in the contest. Fluery aided his own cause at the dish, going 2-for-2 with a home run, a walk, 4 RBI's and 2 runs scored. 

The Mountaineers (3-6/0-2 NWC) will look to bounce back Thursday when they host Anacortes. 

Ferndale 9 Squalicum 6 

Geirean Hatchett led Ferndale to a 9-6 victory over Squalicum at home Tuesday as the Golden Eagles remained perfect in Northwest Conference play. The junior The junior went 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI's and struck out 10 Storm batters to get the victory.

Squalicum mounted a late comeback with 2 runs in the 6th and a grand slam home run by Josh Boysen in the 7th. Boysen went 2-for-4 on the day with 5 RBI's and 2 runs scored. 

Ferndale (5-2/2-0 NWC) plays at Blaine on Thursday. Squalicum (2-7/0-2 NWC) hosts Bellingham at Joe Martin Field. 

Sedro-Woolley 7 Lynden Christian 4

Sedro-Woolley held Lynden Christian scoreless over the final 4 innings of a 7-4 victory at Janicki Fields. The Cubs got a run in the bottom of the 4th and 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th to break the tie and post their 3rd straight victory. 

Senior Cody Buchanan struck out 10 batters and added 2 RBI's in the win. Weston Abbott went 2-for 3 with a double, a walk, 3 RBI's and 1 run scored. 

Cole Moorlag and Shale Whittern each had 2 hits and an RBI for the Lyncs, while Zach Sipma went 1-for 3 with 2 RBI's. Lynden Christian (4-5/1-1 NWC) returns to action Thursday with a ho,me game versus Blaine. 

Meridian 10 Nooksack Valley 2 

Meridian broke out the bats for a 10-to-2 victory over Nooksack Valley on the road. The win snaps a 2-game losing streak for the Trojans, while the Pioneers suffered their 5 straight loss. 

Both teams are back in action Thursday. Meridian (3-2/1-1 NWC) hosts Sedro-Woolley and Nooksack Valley (2-7/0-1 NWC) is at Lakewood.
