Sehome High School is looking for a new boys basketball coach. After 3 years, The Mariners are moving on from former head coach Steve Call.

Sehome Athletic Director Colin Cushman told The Doug Lange Network that it was "Just time to try something different...go in a different direction." he said the two came to a mutual agreement a couple of weeks ago on the change.

Call, who was hired in july of 2015 after stops at Juanita, Shoreline Christian and Edmonds-Woodway, leaves with an overall record of 25-and-38 and a 16-and-21 Northwest Conference record. His squads advanced to the district playoffs the last two seasons.

Cushman says the opening has been posted and he is hoping to do interviews the second week of April, after Spring break. He hopes to be able to hire somebody by the end of April.

Saying he didn't want to jinx himself, Cushman wouldn't divulge if he already has any prospects or targets for the position. He did say he's looking for some longevity. "Someone who's going to be here for more than a year or two," said Cushman. "Someone that's invested in the community and really looking to continue the tradition of Sehome Basketball.

Cushman says he and assistant coach Jordan Chalfant are overseeing the program during this interim period.
