Bells Edge Sweets in Pitchers Duel

June 5, 2018

The Bellingham Bells made one lone run hold up in a pitchers duel victory over Walla Walla Tuesday night . Bellingham beat the Sweets 1-0 at Joe Martin Field.

Bellingham managed just 3 hits on the night, but it urned out to be enough. Guthrie Morrison's RBI single in the bottom of the 5th inning supplied the only run as the Bells recorded their second straight shutout of Walla Walla.

Wesley Moore, Tyler Williams and Trevor DeLaite combined on the mound to hold the Sweets to just 2 hits. More struck out 9 batters, before giving way to Williams, who picked up the victory. DeLaite tallied his first save of the season.

Bellingham (3-1) and Walla Walla (1-4) wrap up their series Wednesday. Davis Baiile will hit the mound for the Bells versus Patrick Collins  for the Sweets. First pitch at Joe Martin Field is scheduled for 6:35pm.
