Nick Nastrini Pitches Bells Past Elks

June 14, 2018

A strong performance on the mound by Nick Nastrini helped deliver Bellingham Bells victory over the Bend Elks Wednesday night. The freshman out of UCLA led Bellingham to the 3-1 win at Vince Genna Stadium.

Over six innings of work, Nastrini (1-0; 0.90ERA) gave up just 1 run on three hits. The righty struck out seven batters while walking four. Reliever Taylor Davis struck out the side in the 9th to pick up his first save of the season.

Bellingham never trailed in this one, scoring two runs in the 4th and one in the 5th. Ernie Yake and Grant Holman led the way with each tallying two hits and 1 RBI on the night.

Bellingham (6-5) is now tied with Yakima for first place in the North Division. The Bells will go for the series victory over Bend (3-8) tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm with Nick Hull scheduled to get the start for Bellingham.
