The Sehome Mariners were targeting different trophies when day 2 of the 2A state softball tournament got underway on Saturday. They took different routes but by the end of the day they both fell in the consolation brackets seeing their season come to an end.

After wining both game on Friday, Sehome  was in the semifinals, just 2 wins away from a state championship. the problem was they had to get past defending champion Woodland to get to the finals.

The Beavers were not ready to give up their crown. Senior pitcher Olivia Grey made sure they would move on and eventually capture another title. The senior struck out 19 Sehome batters to move on to the championship game and send the Mariners to the consolation round.

Lynden was already in the consolation round when they opened up play versus a familiar opponent in Lakewood in a loser out game. The Lions edged the Cougars 8-7 powered by 3 RBI's from Riley Anderson and a solo shot homerun from Taylor Simonsen.

The end would come for both Sehome and Lynden in their second games of the day.

The Lions could not contain a powerful Ridgefield squad as the Spudders posted and 11-0 victory in 5 innings.  After making it to the second day of state for only the third time in program history, Lynden finished the year with a record of 19-and-9.

Sehome fell to Tumwater 8-6.  The Thunderbirds got a measure of revenge by scoring the game winning runs in the 7th inning after losing to the Mariners 7-6 in similar fashion in the opener for both squads on Friday.

Megan Hall had 3RBI's in the loss. Savannah Smith added an RBI single and Kaia Little hit a solo-shot homerun. The Mariners finished the year with a record of 18-and-6.
