Bells Righty Armbruester Named WCL Pitcher of the Week

June 25, 2018

Bellingham Bells pitcher Justin Armbruester has been named the West Coast League Pitcher of the Week. WCL Commissioner Rob Neyer announced the weekly awards Monday.

Armbruester only gave up one hit over two relief appearances including a 4-inning stint at Cowlitz where he was credited the win for Bellingham. Justin did not allow a run, walked one and struck out 8 for the week.

The right-hander out of Pacific Lutheran University currently has posted the league's lowest ERA at 0.47 over 5 appearances and 19.1 innings, including 2 starts; and he's struck out 32 batters this summer.

Kelowna Infielder Taylor Wright is the WCL Player of the Week.  The Maryland University senior  went 12-for-24 for the Falcons with 7 runs, 3 stolen bases, 2 homers and 9 RBIs. For the summer, Taylor is hitting .304 with 2 home runs and 11 RBIs.
