Playoffs: Bellingham Slam a 3rd Seed After Loss Saturday

August 19, 2018

The Bellingham Slam open the Seattle Pro-Am Playoffs today as the third seed following a lop-sidded loss in their regular season finale. Bellingham fell 116-to-94 to top-seeded Worldwide SM Saturday at Royal Brougham Pavilion.

Former Washington Husky star Abdul Gaddy led Worldwide SM with 28 points on 12-of-17 shooting. Amanda Rorie added 26 points in the win.

Bellingham trailed by as much as 26 points in the contest, ending with a 5-and-3 record in the regular season. Paul Hafford led the Slam with 25 points.

“I can’t say that I’m pleased at all with our performance, but we did get some help in the other games today which I think sets us up with a favorable matchup in the playoffs," said Slam GM and Co-Coach Kip Leonetti. “These guys showed why they are the #1 seed in the Pro-Am this summer, and if we see them again next weekend, we just have to be better.”

It's a quick turnaround as The Crawsover playoffs begin Sunday. Bellingham will play the Vancouver Battle in the quarterfinals at 1:30pm. The semifinals and championship games are next weekend.
