Whatcom CC Soccer in NWAC Final Four Tonight

The Whatcom Community College men's soccer team a just one victory away from playing for a Northwest Athletic Conference championship. The Orcas will play in the Final Four at 8pm tonight at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila.
Whatcom (14-3-4) is riding a three-match win streak after edging Spokane 1-0 in the quarterfinals last Saturday. Freshman Keegan Rubio got the lone goal unassisted in the first half.
Rubio leads the Orcas attack with 10 goals and 5 assists. Sophomore defender Cam Miller joined Rubio on the NWAC All-Star team announced earlier this week. Goalkeeper Hector Gutierrez anchors the defense with 30 saves and a .071 goals against average.
The Orcas will take on a tough opponent in Highline (14-1-1). The Thunderbirds are on a 9-match unbeaten streak with their only loss coming back on September 19th.
Highline features the second leading scorer in the conference in Jason Rodriguez who has tallied 17 goals and 9 assists. Goalkeeper Alex Weaver has made 49 saves and sports a .073 goals against average.
The winner moves on to the NWAC Championship match Sunday at 4:00pm against the winner of the Tacoma/Pierce semifinal.
