Hoops Preview: Lions & Tigers...Oh My

January 10, 2019

Northwest Conference boys basketball fans are in for a treat when two of the top teams in the 2A classification square off Thursday night.

Undefeated Lynden plays host to the Burlington at Jake Maberry Gymnasium in a game you can hear on The Doug Lange Network

The defending state champion Lions will put their undefeated record on the line. They are tied with Lynden Christian for the top spot in the conference.  Lynden (13-0/6-0 NWC) is leading the league in scoring in NWC games at 77.2 points per contest and have outscored their competition by an average of 23.7 points a game.

Burlington (11-2/5-1) is tied with Anacortes and Lakewood for second in the conference. The Tigers have won seven of their last eight games. Their only stumbles  this season have come to defending 1a state champion Lynden Christian and a 1 point loss to 4A Kentlake.

There will be plenty of talent on the floor. Lynden features a senior laden roster led by Seattle Pacific University bound forward Clayton Whitman and guard Christian Zamora. The Tigers are paced by coveted junior forwards

Wyatt Walker and Jackson Reisner.

Thursday game tips-off at 7:15pm. Coverage on the Doug Lange Network begins at 7:00pm online at www.OnTheDLN.com
