Bellingham Slam Down Kitsap in Double OT

July 9, 2018

The Bellingham Slam battled back from a 15-point halftime deficit to beat the Kitsap Admirals 123-119 Sunday at Royal Brougham Pavilion. It was the first victory of the year for Bellingham (1-1) in the Crawsover Seattle Pro-Am.

Taylor Stafford hit the game tying 3-ball at the regulation buzzer to send the game into overtime. The former Western Washington University star followed that up by icing the game with another 3 at the end of the second overtime.

DeAndre Dickson led Bellingham with 41 points and 23 rebounds. Stafford finished the game with 40 points and 14 assists.

“I’m so proud of how our guys competed today. With no subs available from the fourth quarter on, they really had to battle, said Slam GM/Co-Coach Kip Leonetti. "Taylor Stafford once again proved he’s a next level player and DeAndre Dickson showed he can be a real force at the pro level.”

Dominique Green led everybody with a game high 50 points, while grabbing 11 rebounds.

Both teams were shorthanded. Kitsap suited only the 5 starters who p[layed the entire game. Bellingham was down to just 5 players for overtime following foul outs.

The Slam is back in action Saturday, July 15th vs. The Unit. Tip-off at Seattle Pacific University is at 4:30pm.
