State Golf: Bellingham's Jada French in 2nd Place after Day 1

Bellingham's Jada French is just 5 spots back of the leader after day one of the 2A girls state golf championships at the Horn Rapids Golf Course in Richland. The junior shot an opening round 77 and is only trailing Kenedee Peters of Ephrata, who shot a 72. 

Bellingham's Sophia Schmidt is tied for 4th after posting a round of 80. Jade Ming of Lynden is in 6th place with an 81 and Bellingham's Kylie Kruhlak is tied for 19th after shooting a 91 on day one. 

In 1A tournament play at the Hangman Valley Golf Course in Spokane, Clara Bergman of Mount Baker placed the highest among the Whatcom County schools at 19th, with an opening round 87.
