Bellingham Bells Rally Past Cowlitz to Win 7th in a Row

June 21, 2018 

The hot streak for the Bellingham Bells continue. Bellingham notched their 7th straight victory Wednesday night, using a 5-run rally over two innings to beat the Cowlitz Black Bears 7-4.

 

Trailing 4-to-1, Bellingham picked up 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning and 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning to improve their West Coast League best record to 12-and-5. 

 

The Bells banged out 13 hits in the win. Second baseman Zach Needham led the way, going 2-for-4 with a home run, 2 RBI's and a run scored. 

Justin Armbruester (1-0; 0.51 ERA) picked up the victory in relief. The right-hander worked 4 innings, giving up just one hit and striking out 6 batters. Taylor Davis (1-0; 1.12 ERA) racked up his 5th save.

Joey Morris (1-2; 3.93 ERA) suffers the loss for Cowlitz. 

Bellingham goes for the sweep tonight at Story Field. Nick Nastrini toes the rubber for the Bells versus Zach Heaton for the Black Bears. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35PM.
