Bellingham, Sehome & Squalicum soccer squads all in district semifinal action tonight

May 8, 2018

The city of Bellingham has boys prep soccer fever. All three local high schools, who have a combined record of 44-4-and-2, are on the pitch tonight in district semifinal matches. Victories for Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum secure trips to the state tournament.

Sehome and Bellingham play back to back at Civic Stadium. The number 1 in the state Red Raiders (15-0-1) battle Archbishop Murphy at 5:00pm. Sehome (13-3-1) takes on Sammamish at 7:00pm.

Also in 2A play, Lynden (9-5-4) plays at Cedarcrest at 6:00pm in a loser-out contest.

In the 3A, Squalicum (16-1) is on the road to play Snohomish. The semifinal match at Shoreline Stadium gets underway at 5:00pm.

Both Meridian and Lynden Christian are still alive in the single A bi-district tournament, but face loser-out contests tonight. The Trojans square off with Northwest at 4:00pm at Whatcom Community College. The Lyncs are at Sammamish High School versus Seattle Academy at 7;00pm.
