Daulton Hommes Named NCCA D2 Player of the Year

March 28, 2019

As accolades keep coming in, Whatcom County's Daulton Hommes has his sight set on NCAA Division 2 college basketball's biggest prize.  Chalk up another huge honor for the Point Loma Nazarene swingman today.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced today that Hommes has been selected as the 2019 NABC Division II Player of the Year. The former Lynden Christian Lync and WWU Viking will receive his award on Sunday, April 7, at the annual AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game awards show at the Main Auditorium in the Minneapolis Convention Center during the NCAA Men's Final Four.

The trophy case is getting full for Hommes after a dream season. He led the Sea Lions in scoring at 21.8 points per game helping them win the PAC West and West Regional Championships. Along the way the junior was named an All American, the West Regional MVP and  PacWest Player and Newcomer of the Year.

Hommes is eyeing bigger hardware, posting on Twitter his desire to get the biggest trophy of the year.

"I’m extremely grateful and humbled to win this award. None of this would be possible without my teammates, coaches and support around me. Now we are 2 wins away from being National Champions and if you know me, you know I want that way more."
